Racist GOP politicians just can’t help themselves. Even in an election year.
Republican Congressman Mike Collins from Georgia praised the racist University of Mississippi frat boys on ex-Twitter for their despicable behavior against a lone, brave Black woman for daring to protest at Ole Miss. They not only repeatedly hurled disgusting insults at her but threw things as well. As one student described, “Counter-protesters were throwing things. I saw half a chicken parm sandwich on the ground, a carrot.”
There are actually several videos, but I am picking the one where you can see the guy mocking her by acting like a monkey and making monkey noises because that’s the one Mike Collins seemed to really like.
I shouldn’t need to mention this, but earlier the counter-protesters waved Trump flags and chanted “Trump,” because of course they did.
It’s all on tape, and you’d think a party that is trying to rehabilitate their image with Black and Latino voters would try to hold back their bigotry for a few months. Yet Rep. Mike Collins loved the video that featured the kid making monkey noises.
This isn’t the first time Mike Collins has promoted racist, as well as anti-Semitic, content on social media. Naturally, I haven’t heard from one Republican calling out Mike Collins for this.
I can’t believe this is still going on at this day and age, but here we are. By the way, the kid who made the monkey noises doubled down on his Twitter by posting images of monkeys. (It’s since been taken down.) Yes, he’s already been identified, as have several others. That kid is getting ready to go through some things very soon:
Kudos to the woman for standing her ground. Yet regarding the vile people showcased in that video, this serves as just another reminder of who Trump supporters and Republicans really are. This exchange had absolutely nothing to do with either Palestine or Israel. This counter-protest was used as an excuse for bigots to engage in racial hatred while enjoying support from the right-wing faction in Congress.
